This may sound stupid but can i use my jbl control 1s rated 4 ohms as surrounds on an amp rated 6 or 8 ohms. |

that is not a stupid question at all, it is better that you know and not guess and hope for the best, right? anyway, there are very few amps that can handle a 4 ohm load without heating or working a little too hard and clipping or go into protect mode. you may want to steer clear of that unless your amp can handle it. cheers |

How can you say there are "few amps" that can handle a 4 ohm load? There are and have been for many years a WIDE selection of amps that can handle 4ohm loads.... are you sure you did not mean not many receivers ? J |

absolutely correct. However, I was referring to amps that are only specifically rated at 6 to 8 ohms. cheers |
