Thread: NAD vs Denon |

Hi there,
I've been offered a NAD CT352 and a Denon PMA-1500RII for about the same price (the Denon is new but was made about two years ago, so I get a discount). Any suggestions as to which of these two amps may work 'best'? I plan to use the amp to drive a pair of Tannoy M 2.5 speakers.

In my opinion the NAD is way better than the Denon.
The Denon sounded a bit lifeless and "mechanical" to me. It has, however, a great phono input (MM and MC)
Listen both amps yourself I'd suggest, your own ears will be a better judge than anyone on this forum. |

nout has it exactly correct--I dumped my Denon 3803 for an NAD 753 earlier this year and I couldn't be happier. The Denon is rather dry sounding and quite lifeless--it simply didn't provide me with any real enjoyment. The NAD, however, sounded like good audio equipment should, with sound that was very realistic and involving. Furthermore, NAD integrated amps regularly show up on the Stereophile list of Recommended Components. You won't find any Denon amps there. |
