I am searching for main speakers with a price range of $350-$450 for the pair. I listened to both HTD Level 3 Towers and Athena AS-F2. How is the M40 compared to these two? Are there anything else out there that will fit my price range that is equally or better? I will be driving these with HK AVR330. Thanks. |

I assume you are looking for floorstanders. In this price range I would consider Tannoy Fusion 4, Wharfedale Diamond 8.4, and Monitor Audio B4 |

The Athenas you are looking at would, imo, be a better choice than the HTD if you decide to stick with your initial set.
I own the Wharfedale Diamond 8.3's, they are spectacular speakers for this price range. Plenty of reviews here, other sites, and What Hi-Fi Magazine gives them 5 of 5 stars in speakers up to 500 British Pounds ($900 US). Pretty darn good considering I paid $350 new for two
