DPR better than 7300?

The AVR is more expensive, but is it a better receiver? I haven't heard of the DPR; is it as good as or better than the HK AVR 7300?

Without personal experience and going by reviews, the Digital Path Recievers are too new, and unrefined. I'd wait another year or two to see where they go.

For now I'd have to say stick with analog, and the AVR 7300 is a great receiver.

The AVR7300 is hands down a better machine. Current review is in Sound and Vision Magazine (Novemeber 2004).

The DPR line is new (digital amplifier) technology. The concept of digital amplification is not yet accepted as being equal to traditional amplification. The idea is to carry the digital signal from the source all the way to the speakers with no (dac)converters. This concept is still being refined as it relates to overall sound.

It falls short to the AVR7300 with respect to musicallity, THD%, features and reliability.
