I am looking at two receivers: Pioneer VSX-D411 (100wx5,Prologic II) and a Sony STR-DE485 (80wx5, Dolby Pro Logic). Any suggestions on which is the better receiver??

I agree with Frank. The 6070 is one of the best sub $1000 receivers on the market. The only weakness that I have found is in stereo music. With home theater it is as good as it gets.

Personally, I recommend the H/K AVR525. You definitely want DPLII, regardless.
