I have a H/K 630 reciever and was wondering should i use a fiber optic cable or a coaxial with my dvd player?

George,

Either is perfectly okay if you are allowing the reciever to do the decoding, however seeing as you are in tha DVD-Audio & SACD section, if you are relating your question to these formats then you would be using the analogue outs of your DVD player to the analogue inputs of your receiver.

Optical cable is considered immune to electric and magnetic interference.

I personally prefer coaxial. Simply sounds better on my equipment.
