If a DVD player is connected to a receiver via HDMI (presume both have it), but the TV does not, would one be able to then use the iLink and component outs to connect the receiver to the TV?

In other words, if you have an HDMI DVD player (59AVi) is it worth waiting for a receiver with HDMI if your new TV does not have HDMI or even DVI? (Sony 65WS550)
