hi

i have a Sony STRDE595 receiver.
i recently hooked up speakers to front b.
so now i have spekers in both A and B.
Now heres my problem.
whenever i switch to either SP B or SP A+B
the receiver says PROTECT and nothing comes out of the speakers. the only way to make sound come out again is to turn off the receiver and then when turning it back on i have to switch it back to just SP A.
Do any of you know how to solve this problem so that i can have sound from both A and B speakers.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

thanks
Kamil

Kamil: you may have a wire touching (even a stray "strand" of wire will cause this) between the red/black terminals of the "B" speaker pair.

Try disconnecting the "A" speakers and putting the "B" speakers on the "A" terminals. Switch the receiver to "A". You're trying to see if the problem "follows the speakers" or if it goes away. If it goes away... disconnect those speakers and RECONNECT your "A" speaker to the "B" terminals. Switch the reciever to "B". If the problem happens again and the previous test worked ("B" speakers on "A" terminals") then (more than likely) something's wrong on the internal switching of the receiver.

Hopefully you still have the warranty.
