I have narrowed my choices to 3 amps: Rotel RMB-1095 Anthem MCA-5 Parasound HCA-2205A Sub-$1500 would be the less powerful siblings: Rotel RMB-1075 Parasound HCA-1205A Anthem PVA-5, I think the PVA-7 also goes for under $1,500 Which one would you dudes recommend? Which one is more suitable for music, ie. SACD, DVD-A?; Which one is more suitable for home theater? Any one of these with quality control issues? Any and all responses will be greatly appreciated. |

I really like the Parasound better than the Rotel. The Rotel has a "leaner" sound to it, which isn't a bad thing. I just prefered the Parasound. I haven't heard the Anthem for any appreciable period of time, so I can't comment on it. I don't think you would have any problems with any of these amps. All are extremely well made and perfectly capable of doing whatever you want in either musical reproduciton or HT. I am assuming you have a killer pre/pro to go with one of these amps. It would also help to know what speakers you are running, too. |
